I am UKCP Accredited as a Psychotherapist and Counsellor and hold a Post-Graduate Diploma and an MA in Transpersonal Psychotherapy and Counselling from The Centre of Counselling and Psychotherapy Education, Warwick Avenue (a UKCP and BACP Accredited course). in 2002
I have worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist for 20 years now, I completed a second MA in Child, Adolescent and Family Therapy (2013) and have trained and qualified in a UKCP accredited Diploma in Supervision course. I am committed to ongoing supervision of my practice.
I completed an accredited training in EMDR Therapy (2017) in the EMDR Academy's accredited training package. This is a post-accreditation training to work with clients with trauma related symptoms, as recommended by the NHS' NICE guidelines. (See www.emdracademy.com for more information)
I am committed to ongoing training for CPD and have completed a training in CBT and am currently training for a Certificate in Hypnosis (From the UKCP accredited course from the National College of Hypnotherapy) I have completed an Advanced Diploma in Transpersonal Psychotherapy in 2020 and began a PhD programme in Professional Practice in 2019.
I also work as a Bach Flower Essence Practitioner - a holistic complementary therapy and am a Reiki Therapist.
I trained at the BBC as a BBC Executive coach and worked in the coaching programme there for three years. (until 2006)
I also have an earlier MSc in Politics and Sociology.
Areas of Specialism: I have worked with a broad range of issues and have found the in depth work I have done with clients around healing from trauma in childhood very rewarding. I am particularly interested in how we can free ourselves from the obstacles that hold us back or prevent us from achieving our goals, fulfilling our potential.
In tandem with my training in psychotherapy, I have worked in the media, with 18 years of experience working in Photography in Television. Once I qualified as a psychotherapist, I trained with the BBC as a BBC business coach in 2002 and worked as a coach at the BBC for three years before setting up the media consultancy, Push, with whom I am still an Associate. My approach in coaching is supportive, motivational and action-oriented.
I have now worked for the NHS as a counsellor for fifteen years also taking part in their provision of cpd, statutory training and supervision.
